Phytosphingosine

Phytosphingosine is a lipid in the epidermis, a precursor of skin ceramides.

A lack of ceramides is associated with epidermal disorders and often occurs in cases of allergies, seborrhoeic dermatitis and bacterial and fungal overgrowth.

Phytosphingosine increases ceramide production, helping to restore the lamellar structure of the stratum corneum, regulating keratinocyte differentiation and reducing the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Furthermore, by restructuring the skin's lipid barrier, it reinforces its functions as a protective barrier, preventing the attack of pathogens by this route, as it is a solid block without breakages.
